Trish Grantham In A Box: Paper Milk

Trish Grantham for papermilk.com

Just in time for gift giving, is the new Paper Milk. The Paper Milk website says they’re “specializing in small edition artist projects,” (v. good) and first out of the box (and in the box) is a set of Trish Grantham cardss. Sweet paintings by this Portland-based artist printed on recyled cards with soy ink come in sets of three cards of each of four designs. Find them on Grantham’s site and in Seattle at Fancy. [this just in: Paper Milk at Souchi (807 NW 23rd).]

Richter Scale

Take Off, Eva Lake from Richter Scale at Augen Gallery
“Take Off”, Eva Lake at Augen Gallery. photo via Augen Gallery.

Eva Lake is our favorite multipronged PDX art attack: smart art writer, former gallerist, art radio personality (Art Star in PDX and now Art World). She’s also one of the hardest working artists in Portland, putting everything she’s got into her eye-bending paintings (we love how “Take Off,” above, deliciously evokes the palette and brushwork of early Malevich filtered though an Op Art lens). These are paintings that pulse, vibrating with energy like the artist herself, and “Richter Scale,” her new solo show, opening December 9 at Augen Gallery downtown (817 SW 2nd), is wall to wall with 44 of them. Go see.
