…we are sometimes expected to fight what is natural with all our might (e.g. aging, death), other times we scorn and fear what is seemingly bizarre and freakish. Either way, this is a topic that we all can approach, perhaps from a personal relationship with the unnatural, even within one’s self, to those things that make us the most uncomfortable.

Recess Gallery presents the first installment of a three part show series. For Synthesis local participating artists were randomly paired to combine their individual ideas into a joint creation. According to the Recess Gallery website curator/director Tori Abernathy hopes that this strategy will foster a dialectic approach to creation.
