If A Tree Falls…Abraham Ingle at FalseFront

Tonight, a debut solo show of work by Abraham Ingle, If A Tree Falls… opens at FalseFront (4518 NE 32nd) with a reception from 6-10 PM. The show is six new video, installation, interactive and collaborative projects, through which Ingle proposes to “investigate the notions of presence in the age of ‘always on’.”
More from the gallery:
Previous works of Abraham Ingle, under the moniker “Hood Turkey”, emphasized social engagement through active participation. With projects such as Neighborhood Diaries, Portland Papergirl and Pants Exchange, Ingle evoked the theme of community involvement, skewing the line between audience and artist. This cooperative experience is a “call for connection” of sorts, an all inclusive welcoming by Ingle. In If A Tree Falls… he offers the conflicting view of this involvement. Exploring such social interactions, expectations and authenticity with more the stance of observer; Ingle is seeking answers, rather than reaction. In this “24/7 connectivity” contemporary life, when(if possible) is it appropriate to shut it all off?
