Summer Skype at Fourteen30

I know it’s a coincidence, but…. Montreal-based Grier Edmundson’s painting in Fourteen30′s (1430 SE 3rd) Summer Show is located as far from the rest of the work, both literally (high on a wall in a corner) and figuratively (a figurative oil painting), as he is geographically from the rest of the featured artists.
Thursday evening’s Skype talk brings Edmundson in close (if virtual) proximity to talk about his work with arts writer John Motley at 6:30 PM.
More on Edmundson from the gallery to whet your appetite:
Grier Edmundson’s poignant and evocative oil paintings examine society through the reconstruction of appropriated images, subtly teasing out new questions and perceptions of old ideas and classic problems inherent in our own human centeredness. Edmundson held solo exhibitions in 2009 at both Battat Contemporary in Montreal, and Fourteen30 Contemporary. His work has also been included in recent group exhibitions at De Appel (Amsterdam); Galerie Art Concept (Paris); Power House (Memphis); and Artnewprojects (Berlin.)
