Our Best Machines Are Made Of Sunshine
Opening tonight, “Our Best Machines are Made of Sunshine” is an exhibition of installation and photography by ultra-fave, Paige Saez and Rebecca Steele at The Lodge Gallery at Allied Works Architecture (1532 SW Morrison). Feeding back to the feedback (and this is usually where things get interesting) the two MFA candidates at PNCA take as a launch point the video responses or “performances” that proliferate on YouTube. “Video responses are fascinating in that they refract, recreate, and insert themselves into the primary media through the reciprocal production of video. We are interested in the act of mimicry as a form of participation where real and simulated are undifferentiated. ” The show opens with a reception tonight, February 12, from 7:30 – 9:30 PM.
