Bones and shells, felt, leather, recycled fabrics, deconstructed seams and raw hems…NE Alberta or the West End (home to the polish of The English Dept. and Odessa, the modern mix at Frances May and Covet)? Okay, full disclosure, our first visit to Radish Underground (414 SW 10th) will be tonight, November 6 from 5-9 PM (or sometime in there) for the Grand Opening of this new boutique. But owners Celestial Sipes and Gina Johnson have kindly given us a preview, listing the primarily regional, indie lines (excepting raw earth wild sky from LA) they’ll carry on the website. The descriptors above are pulled from the site and it should be noted that the list of designers also includes two ladylike labels Suzabelle (see above) from Seattle and Studio SKB which is AI apparel instructor Sharon Blair’s line. Looking forward to seeing how they spin this mix. Sipes’ line Aster Park, made from recycled fabrics will be the boutique’s first featured line.  And keep an eye out for sweet PDX accessories fave, Frozen Peas.
