The Hung Far Low building in Old Town rises again. Word is that Wieden + Kennedy’s brilliant design guru, John Jay and his wife Janet Jay are partnering with Andy Ricker, owner of the criminally successful Pok Pok, to open Ping in Old Town some time this winter. Oregonlive says that Ricker imagines a “cross between an izakaya (Japanese pub) and a Southeast Asian cafe and coffeehouse.” Good design, good food, just steps away from Compound. Sign us up.
