Like Threadless For Your Feet

ryz

By now we’re all familiar with the Threadless gambit. Threadless invites designers to submit t-shirt graphics. Visitors to the Threadless website vote on the designs. The most popular get made. Designers are paid USD $2000 and are given a USD $500 credit on Threadless.

Now, Portland-based RYZ brings the crowdsourcing principle to your sneaker. If the precedent for customized shoes has already been set (Nike, Vans, Converse all offer tools for you to make a customized shoe), the people’s choice contest model is still new to the shoe. Designers download a template for a standard shoe blank onto which they can map their designs.  Upload, comment, vote…you know the drill. RYZ gives the winning design $1000 and $1 royalty for every pair sold.

Sub-mit.
