In this corner, the lady on the hill, NW 23rd throws open the doors for its annual sidewalk sale. And in this corner, the Pearl, the shiny upstart invites shoppers to its Pearl Summer Style Sale. July 11-13 is shopping heaven. Everyone, that is, EVERYONE is cleaning out/up and getting ready for fall because retail is funny like that (we’re just getting used to summer here).

On NW 23rd, for the ladies, Souchi (807 NW 23rd), Seaplane (827 NW 23rd), Blush Beauty Bar (513 NW 23rd), Elizabeth Street (635 NW 23rd) and Zelda’s Shoe Bar(633 NW 23rd). Boys get Blake (2285 NW Johnson) and Sameunderneath (806 NW 23rd) and both of these also have goods for gals. These are just highlights. There are many, many shops between, not to mention the big fellas at the end of the row by Burnside, from Pottery Barn to Levis and Urban Outfitters.

And in the Pearl District, MoulĂ© (1225 NW Everett) is a favorite (boys & girls), Nolita (923 NW 10th), Physical Element (1124 NW Lovejoy), and neighbor to the Pearl Bakery: Olivia Belle (110 NW 9th) . For gentlemen, try Finn (132 NW 12th Ave @ Davis). Plus there are all of the stationers like Ecru and Oblation, home goods shops. You could probably spend all three days there and still have more to look at. Oh, and shoes at Olive, Imelda’s, Shoefly, and Bella Moda. Whew!
