A gentle spring evening was the setting for the second annual Flourish Fashion Show. This fashion presentation benefited Escuela Viva and it was produced by willowy Heidi Cuthbert (heidi-style.com) for the boutiques and labels on N Mississippi. Even though the swanky DJ Muu Muu played fastidious beats, the crowd was more PTA than fashion. We saw the ever lovely artist Harvest Henderson looking studious and spectacled, Dr. Aaron Annis of Sattva Health Gallery, proprietress and style maven Sally of Pin Me Apparel and Gordon Heady of Sake One, and a gaggle of chidren who reveled in runway antics pre-show. The show was at the Mississippi Ballroom, and all the neighborhood showed up. It was like a block party with people dangling through open windows peeping in. One youthful fellow, Trent, said, “This show is about community, a collaboration of local flavor with a side of industry-leading design.”

The show included the spring lines from area retailers such as Pin Me Apparel, Gypsy Chic, Phlox (including the debut of owner Barbara Seipp’s line Isaac Hers), Black Wagon, and retailer/label Sameunderneath. The fashion show was divided into three segments with three looks from each designer. Let’s us add that the model’s hair was magnificient! The hair styles were the work of Kristen Lee and Maggie of Belle Epoque salon. With over 63 looks, we selected our favorites.
