Ashkan reviews Portland Fashion Week’s spring reception at the South Waterfront Discovery Center

The fashionable set waited the entire winter to come out of hibernation. One and all were dressed, made-up and eager at the fall preview reception hosted by Portland Fashion Week. The party and silent auction highlighted a number of designers such as Sofada, Lizzie Parker, Alula, and others at this benefit for the Children’s Cancer Association. The bash was at the glossy South Waterfront Discovery Center and it was teeming with people. We caught sight of the JE Salon team including Jason Eckeberger, Heidi Cuthbert and David Scott, Marie Saturn, and others lovelies too numerous to mention. Patrons circulated among styled mannequins rather than live models. The display was curated by Art Institute alumni Amanda Zeibell set among the mock living rooms and kitchens (totally furnished!) of the showroom. In a conceptual way, it was like an upscale rendering of a living doll house complete with well-dressed (if headless) dolls. Reflecting on the fall/winter preview, we will restlessly await the arrival of September.

Great lighting at this event, wow! They’re really doing a Fall preview this early?? The two young girls (blonde & brunette in black, red, and white) in the photo are gorgeous. How fun! Another well-written review Ashkan….
