Seems the Wonder Ballroom has become fashion show Grand Central Station for Spring (see also STRUT and the Mercury’s fashion show). And now for something completely different: sight unseen, we’re going to check out new work by Portland-based deisgner Young-hee Shin, completely new to us. Why? Our contact, Christina Hur, says, “The clothes are unisex, with more emphasis toward men’s fashion. Ties and skirts are the main thing, for both men and women.” And that was enough to pique our interest, somehow we don’t think this will be the hairy guy with Red Wing boots and a utilikilt in Fred Meyer, nor will it be the young man biking down our street in the flowery rayon dress. It happens at Wonder Ballroom (128 NE Russell) on Sunday, March 16 at 4 PM. It’s free and you can reserve up to four seats by emailing fashionshow2008@gmail.com.
