The daily design website, Design*Sponge is coming to Portland, hotbed as it is of design micro-businesses.

Design*Sponge editor, Grace Bonney, is doing a national series of events for women running design-based businesses and she brings it to Design Within Reach (1200 NW Everett) in Portland February 26 [date corrected!] from 7-9 PM. The Design*Sponge Biz Ladies Meetup is a night of free networking and advice for women running their own design and art-based businesses with experts available to offer free advice on business and legal issues, public relations, wholesaling and marketing. Portland-based Amy Ruppel and Tilde owner Debbe Hamada co-host. RSVP to designsponge@gmail.com.

    fyi – the Design*Sponge website says the biz lady meetup is February 26 in PDX, not February 28 (on the 28th there’s one in Seattle).
