Our latest Point of View is Moth Love featuring Gretchen Jones’ new line Moth Love shown with a special jewelry collection for Spring 08 by Anna Korte. Roommates Jones and Korte both incorporated leather and fine detail into their complimentary collections, Korte’s of vintage brass chain and refashioned bits of vintage leather gloves, Jones embroidering tone-on-tone moths and adding touches like a reverse, leather-tabbed box pleat at the hem. Moth Love is shot by Minh Tran with makeup by Heather Baldwin. How did we convince Gretchen Jones and Anna Korte to model their own designs? Who better?
Thank you to Bodyvox and the Multnomah County Library Central Branch.

You know what would be great? If you stopped masterbating over Moth Love! Cum on Ultra PDX, I know you can do it! Reach outside your comfort zone and always remember “pretty” and “girly” doesn’t always equal fashion!

Hello Cousin,
ultra doesn’t have a comfort zone but a zone of aesthetic interest. If you read deeper through ultra, you’d see that we are rarely very interested in “pretty” or “girly,” In fact, we’d argue that Moth Love, a new line deserving of our interest, is neither.

This is beautiful. I love it. I’d hate to see cousin it’s idea of what equal fashion.

certainly you can understand dear cousin, that a calculated move by designer to introduce said label came at a time where little more than exhaust from fall fashion exists.
I’m flattered that you even took the time to comment. it means you’ve been looking.
Thank you Mr. Critic It. Watch out…I may come into your closet, I promise to leave no holes in your sweaters though…

A former Portlander, now a Eugenean, I didn’t show interest in local fashion until I was well away from pdx. I can’t believe I missed out on all the great stuff that can only be conjured by Portland and I’m hella proud. I’m glad I stumbled upon this blog. Moth Love, your designs are not bad at all! Think a poor starving cartoonist like myself will ever afford to keep anything of yours in my closet??
Big Kudos to Ultra PDX!

WHAT TO DO NOW?
