We very recently previewed the new line IDOM by Portland-based designer Modi Soondarotok who owns a NE Alberta boutique (1600 NE Alberta) of the same name. Soondarotok, who has worked with Peter Som, Donna Karan, Twinkle, and Armani says that for her the design process begins with the fabric. She lets lets it dictate, “what it wants to become.” And for her debut IDOM Summer collection, her fabrics ranged from the stunning Scandinavian-esque graphic print to a black Asian-influenced yarn-dyed fabric.
