Portland Art Coloring Book, Scott Wayne Indiana
A piece by Portland artist Liz Haley, Marne Lucas’ portrait of Storm Tharp, David Eckard performing Scribe, PICA’s Kristan Kennedy, and gallerist Liz Leach…and that’s just on the cover. Portland Art Coloring Book is a new project by Portland artist Scott Wayne Indiana (if you haven’t seen his horses on sidewalks all over town, you haven’t been looking). He’s made a limited edition of coloring books featuring portraits and work by a cross-section of Portland artists, filmmakers, writers, and gallerists in the style of cheap coloring books, all imperfect heavy black outlines (making it easy to color inside the fat lines).

But because Indiana is a project man, the buck does not stop there. Indiana invites you to participate in the COLORING BOOK PROJECT by buying a book (if you’re in the book, you get it at half price) coloring the pictures, scanning your favorites, and emailing them to Indiana for exhibition on www.39forks.com in the “coloring book” fork.

The list of includes is kind of fun ranging from Arlene Schnitzer to Mark Rothko. Indiana will be at The Side Door (425 SE Washington) today from 1-4 PM. The books are $20, $10 if you’re in it.

We are sharpening our 64 Crayola crayons.
