Pelican Avenue hooded water-repellent poncho
At its best, fashion is art intersecting design intersecting the practical necessities of covering a body. At its best, a store concerning itself with fashion also concerns itself with art and design.
So the juxtaposition of the artful and ghostlike Pelican Avenue hooded poncho (that also happens to be practical…water-repellent), necklaces by conceptual artist Montana Cherney, and books from the Dutch Werkplaats Typografie is so good and very up our alley. You’ll find this shining confluence down an alley, or really an exterior hallway, in the 811 E Burnside building where the boutique Stand Up Comedy lives.
Tonight is First Friday so Stand Up Comedy neighbors in the 811 building like Grass Hut and Redux open shows and Denwave and Moshi Moshi as well as Lille Boutique (1007 E Burnside) are open until 9 PM.
