In a moment of serendipitous convergence, Lindsay Garcia and Heidi Parsitt, stylists at Ziva Salon, who had been wanting to do a hair show AND are always on the lookout for doing benefits for worthy causes, decided to do a fashion show benefit for EcoTrust featuring local designers and boutiques including Sameunderneath, Diana Pingul (talented recent AI graduate), and Amalee. Eco Style goes down on Sunday, September 16 at the Billy Frank Jr. Conference Center (721 NW 9th Ave, 2nd Floor); the doors open at 5 PM with the show at 6 PM. Tickets are $25 with all proceeds going to EcoTrust. So are the Ziva stylists using natural or sustainably produced hair products for the show? Garcia says, “No, but the hair and makeup will be done in more of an eco-style, more natural looking.” And while Sameunderneath is the only participant that is focusing on making strides toward sustainability, all concerned are donating their time to support EcoTrust.
