Introducing a new project that we’ve been working on for quite a while. From time to time, through the good graces of our senior photographer Pete Springer and intern Lina Sien, we’ll be bringing you a look inside the studios of Portland’s independent fashion designers.

We kick off our In Studio series with a look inside the studio of Emily Katz. Katz’ beloved line of wearable machine-embroidered art, Bonnie Heart Clyde, has recently been put on hold while Katz launches her eponymous line of clothing. Recently, Katz allowed ultra to get a view to her process, from sketch to sample to finished piece.

See In Studio: Emily Katz.
