Are you the serious literary sort? Or are you the type who can appreciate a good pun? (Are You There God? It’s Me Margaret.)
To celebrate Bloomsday, as you aren’t in Dublin and can’t retrace the steps of the Joyce’s characters getting lit along the way, you could either make another good stab at James Joyce’s Ulysses (mom is on her fourth try) or you could attend Blumesday, readings by Portland-based writers of the works of Judy Blume. You know, Deenie, Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing, Superfudge, Then Again, Maybe I Won’t.
Joanna Miller and Heather Larimer host Blumesday this evening, Saturday June 16 at 7:30 PM at Bagdad Theater (3702 SE Hawthorne). $3
