We continue to be grateful that Portland is asking the right questions (more on this in another post) and addressing the right topics, those that will give the creative economy the support it needs to help Portland maintain its Emerald City magic that makes it such a draw and such a good place for artists, designers, creative entrepreneurs.
One area that’s been identified by the city and others as a key growth area is, surprise, apparel. And where apparel meets sustainability (another key area for Portland’s self-identity and brand) you’ll find “Portland Grown, Green Fashion Forum.”
There is a conversation happening among a number of different entities with a nexus in Sam Adams’ office about this August event at the Gerding Theater at the Armory that will focus on sustainable practices in fashion. It’s shaping up to be a dynamic and glam take, one part education and one part trade show, on the best (and best-practices) of Portland sustainable fashion.
Stay tuned.
