Portland artist, arts journalist, and gallerist Eva Lake has long hosted ArtStar radio, broadcast in Portland on KPSU, with artists, independent curators, critics and more weighing in on visual art and culture in Portland and beyond in crackling conversation.

Now Lake will be widening the scope of her conversation as well as its reach in “The Art World,” her new weekly art talk show broadcast live every Wednesday at 3 PM on Women’s Network, Voice America’s Women channel. According to Lake, “Greenstone Media (backed by Jane Fonda and Gloria Steinem) are in partnership with Voice America to nurture female radio talent via a new women-hosted online channel.” During the live show, callers are invited to call in with comments and questions at 866.472.5788.

Get the schedule of upcoming shows featuring artists, authors, curators and check out Lake’s new blog that gives a preview of each show. Highlights of the schedule include today’s 3 PM PST interview with Charlie Finch, senior art critic for Artnet, co-editor of Coagula: Most Art Sucks, Andrei Codrescu, gallerist Jen Bekman, founding editor of the design blog Unbeige and now does Personism (hail Frank O’Hara), as well as David Cohen and Namita Gupta Wiggers of the Museum of Contemporary Craft in Portland, Oregon.

Lake is represented by the Augen Gallery. (Side note: are you keeping an eye on the DeSoto Building on the North Park Blocks? With the Museum of Contemporary Craft slated to open next month and Froelick, Augen et al to follow…things are getting exciting).
