Like many good projects, Tender Loving Empire started with Brianne and Jared Mees doing projects for friends, screenprinting, publishing, releasing albums. Or really, it started because Jared learned to screenprint so he could produce the packaging for his own CD. The couple had a lot of talented friends and began helping them produce, publish, promote their work as well. Now Tender Loving Empire (1720 NW Lovejoy St. #109) is a shop in addition to a record label, publisher, and fashion cooperative with limited edition art, books, music, and apparel. Their grand opening is Thursday, June 7, 6-10 PM. Check.
