If having a number of design projects in play on the city’s (or country’s) flat spaces (bus, billboard) is some measure of the designer’s currrency, and if the cool-quotient of the clients is factored in, Dan Stiles is on a bit of a roll. One of ultra’s favorites, Stiles has recently done the look of both Seattle’s 2007 Bumbershoot fest (w/ a quasi 3D palette, so good) and Portland’s upcoming PDX Pop Now Festival. Here’s his poster for the just-wrapped Flatstock at South by Southwest in Austin:

Stiles sells limited editions of his posters on his website, but unsurprisingly, the posters tend to sell out. Have a look at his designs for the TV on the Radio, The Bronx, Scissor Sisters, Sigur Ros (our favorite), and Lady Sovereign.
ASIDE: did you know that Cat Power is a current member of the Lagerfeld brigade, flown at Chanel expense to Lagerfeld and Chanel gatherings around the globe?
