This is the fun of a neighborhood on the move: What seems almost impossible, something like the transformation of the 811 Building from a weird, ghost of an office-y building to a thriving, hip minimall (have to call it what it is), happens in spite of our limited imaginations. We could say the same about the Pearl if our memories extended that far back. So it is that the notion of a lovely lingerie boutique behind the papered windows of 1007 E Burnside, next to the tattoo parlour and a stone’s throw from the Thriftlodge might seem like a stretch at the moment, but just you wait. With Leather Storr’s new Rocket restaurant going into the new building virtually cantilevered out over E Burnside a few more blocks east, just watch the upstream flow continue.
And what a gem in the crown of the Eastside Lille Boutique is positioned to be, stocking breathtakingly extraordinary lingerie from boutique lines like Dessous and Araks, Princesse Tam Tam, Ciel, and many more in natural fabrics like bamboo jersey, silk, and organic cotton. Yum.
Lille Boutique (1007 E Burnside) is throwing a Grand Opening Party Saturday, April 14 begining at 6 PM (the shop does not officially open until then). But you can get a sneak preview this Friday night between 6-9 PM.
