This past year has been a very good one for Dayna Pinkham. Her Pinkham Millinery has received good notice in the press both in Portland and elsewhere, her foray to New York Fashion Week this spring with a temporary showroom was a profile-raising success (with future designer collaborations in the works), and her runway show on a Portland streetcar(!) was a highlight of 06. While Portland has long known what a treasure we have in Pinkham, arguably the finest milliner on the West Coast, now the rest of the country is making the discovery. It can only be a good thing for Pinkham that all this comes at a time when hats featured prominently in the runway shows of designers like Marc Jacobs and Donna Karan.
Lucky for us, Pinkham Millinery (515 SW Broadway in Morgan’s Alley) is in downtown Portland where you’ll find a sample sale–both end-of-fall and spring previews–next week, Friday and Saturday March 30-31 from 11-5:30.
