Shiny can be so obvious. What if your earrings were dark graphic elements against your pale neck rather than crow bait? The dark minimalism of these, by Portland-based Sarah Dible for Loop Designs, makes them feel as though they could be items in the gift shop at the Isamu Noguchi museum. They’re sculptural like a find in a Japanese garden and at the same time unfinished and humble. The stones are just rocks after all. But then again diamonds are as well, aren’t they? These have the added interest of being stones from Manzanita Beach on the Oregon Coast.
