When the new Contemporary Craft Museum opens on the NW Park blocks in all of its gleaming glory, you’ll want to be one of those who can say, “I remember when it was in this space down off of Corbett in the SW boondocks.” In order to be able to legitimately make this claim, you’ll have to get over there now because time is ticking away.
The last show—actually three shows—in their current space (3934 SW Corbett) opens Friday, January 12 with a reception from 5:30-8. We’re looking forward to seeing Hilary Pfeifer’s mixed-media installation “s’Warm,” which was originally installed at The Fuller Craft Museum in Boston. And we’re interested to see work by Eliza Au, who has a current ceramics residency at CCMG. She’s doing a multiples-based installation called “Hymn to Calamity.”

And don’t miss the work of Leroy Setziol. There’s a wealth of inspiration–texture, form, composition–to be found in his carved wood panels. See also, this film on his work and philosophy.
