Our nominee for image of the day comes via PADA’s First Thursday email hit, this digital print by Jim Riswold, “La Chaise Chairman Mao.” Glib? Maybe, but here’s an interesting related fact: Herman Miller’s Eames® Aluminum Group Task Chairs (the chair Mao is on is a Charles and Ray Eames “La Chaise”) can be upholstered in a polyester/nylon Maharam fabric called “Messenger” that comes in a great red called, “Mao.” A show of Riswold’s work opens Thursday at Augen Gallery (817 SW 2nd).
