It reminds us of a stewardess uniform…from an era when stewardesses were called stewardesses and were imparted a degree of style by their designer uniforms. (We won’t quibble about the shoes) But it got us to thinking about the many ways this little suit could go come spring. G. will wear the shorts over fishnets with slouchy tan ankle boots, the jacket (she’ll switch out the buttons) over some faded t-shirt she found at Red Light, a size too small. N. will wear it with espadrilles (real espadrilles, not the wedge-y ones) over a stripey bikini at the beach. K. will have the shorts lengthened a touch, the jacket buttons replaced with red, and get away with wearing the suit to work (she works in a “creative” field) with pumps and a distracting handbag. And M. will make short-short cutoffs out of the shorts and tie the jacket around his head like a turban.
The room, Lola’s that is, was filled Sunday night for a boutique fashion show produced by the gals at Garment. There was no program to be had, but we recognized Sofada, Suzabelle, and Louise jeans, as well as Jenny’s SheShe slipwear. Here’s a quick look at the proceedings through the lens of photographer, Pete Springer.
