Have your designs been languishing in your studio or sketchbook, or gracing the shoulders of a lucky few in your inner circle? Are you ready to show your stuff to the world? Aspiring Portland fashion designers who are as yet unrepresented by a boutique, or who are still in school can compete in Film Action Oregon’s Student/Emerging Talent Design Competition.
Film Action Oregon runs film education programs, supports independent filmmakers, and runs the Hollywood Theater. They produced Portland’s Oscar Night� America event at the Hollywood Theatre last year (it raises funds for the organization while getting you out of your living room and away from the tellie) and are gearing up to do it again on February 25, 2007. To crank up the glam quotient of the night, they’re hosting a Hollywood Luxe 2007 fashion show, February 8 at the Hollywood Theatre, to prove to Portland how fab she can be in locally-designed eveningwear. Fifteen finalists for the design competition will be invited to participate in the Hollywood Luxe Fashion Show.
