Contemporary Crafts Museum & Gallery is looking for a few good artists working in craft media (ceramic, fiber, wood, glass or metal) or using traditional craft techniques to be considered for inclusion in the CCMG sales gallery. This is a great opportunity as this venerable Portland institution (70 years young) is moving to their new Pearl location in 07 which will kick their visibility (and that of the artists in the sales gallery) through the roof.
Complete submission materials must be received by 5 pm on February 1, 2007. This is not a postmark deadline.

126 artists from as far away as Portugal and the Czech Republic applied to have their work included in Handmade for the Holidays, Contemporary Crafts Museum & Gallery’s (3934 SW Corbett Avenue…go south on Barbur and look for the big blue signs) annual showcase of great handcrafted gifts. Of those, 22 were selected including Sarah Fox with her organic felt and silver jewelry, Ben Neubeuer (clean geometric jewelry), and Bunny with a Toolbelt (mixed-media narrative sculptures). 60% of the sale price goes to the artist, the rest to support the work of the Contemporary Crafts Museum & Gallery. Good all the way around.
