Scaredycat

Just in time for the 33rd Northwest Film & Video Festival, Andy Blubaugh finished his film Scaredycat, his response to being beaten and robbed by “The Portland Riders” in 2004. Blubaugh’s work on this film was supported by a fellowship from the Program for Media Artists (formerly the Rockefeller Fellowship). One of Blubaugh’s previous films, Hello, Thanks screened last year at Sundance and we expect the same destination for Scaredycat. See it here first.

Scaredycat will be screened this Saturday, November 18 at 8 PM at Clinton Street Theater (2522 SE Clinton) as a part of the closing program for the Northwest Fest, Shoegazer Cinema. Blubaugh’s film shares the evening with films by animator Zak Margolis and Nick Peterson who both collaborated with Blubaugh on Scaredycat.

Blubaugh promises that Shoegazer Cinema will also be, “the official kickoff event for shoeintheroad.com, my new online cinema experiment in which I will be creating a new short film essay on super-8 every single week….The first seven of these short film experiments will be presented at the show with live music from Babydollars (Toussaint Perrault).”
