We were alerted to this month-ripe article on NY-based online pub, refinery29 about Odessa. Shouted-out as one of the “Shops We Love,” Susan Tompkins newly-relocated boutique is rightfully noted as being a pacesetter with selections from lines like Mayle, Daryl K, Cacharel, Loomstate, and PDX’s Anna Cohen, as well as being first out of the blocks in coming neighborhoods—ten years ago in the then-undeveloped Pearl and now in PDX’s next hot ‘hood with neighbors like Masu, The Ace Hotel, and American Apparel.
We will selectively overlook the fact that the writer felt the need to open her piece by holding up Odessa as an antidote to otherwise “flannel” and “Birkenstocks”-wearing Northwesterners. Time to kill the cliché, baby.
