…a beacon in yet another up-and-coming PDX neighborhood
She was one of the Pearl pioneers when her NYC-in-PDX boutique, Odessa, opened about a decade ago. Tomorrow, Susan Tompkins reopens Odessa in what may become Portland’s next hot neighborhood at 410 SW 13th…that’s right SOUTHwest. She shares a building with the beautiful, modern sushi spot, Masu, and is nearby American Apparel, the incoming Ace Hotel, and apparently an incoming music venue, among other things. Certainly seems like things are shaping up in a most interesting way. That hers is the only shop in Portland where you’ll find labels like Mayle—its worldly femininity setting the tone for the shop—says volumes about Tompkins’ extraordinary boutique. Say you were there on opening day.
