Surely you’ve noticed the dominant motif of the animal in visual art and design (antlers anyone?) from the ubiquitous birdies (which we love) in product and apparel design to the work of artists like Malia Jensen and Bruce Conkle (aluminum foil sea creatures!). So it’s no surprise that more than thirty artists were selected to contribute to the Bestiary group show at Froelick Gallery (817 SW Second Ave) writing the pages of the field guide on the walls of the gallery.
