This ain’t no cake walk, and we mean that in a good way. This is the second event this month that raises money for local schools in a way we can get behind. The Buckman Art Show and Sale (320 SE 16th at Stark) benefiting Buckman Arts Magnet Elementary goes down this weekend Friday through Sunday.

In addition to art and craft, find jewelry, apparel, home goods, gifts and more by designers like jeweler Rebecca Scheer, Jen Neitzel (whose work appears in Stitch & Bitch: The Happy Hooker), and Elizabeth Rohloff, who will be selling her hats and bags. Crazy Coconut silkscreens t-shirts with high-contrast photo-based images…which is to say that they make killer graphics out of peacocks and the St. John’s Bridge.
