Benefit for 22ºhalo
Daniel Addy’s aerial dance company AVIATOR throws a party to help fund their upcoming performance of 22ºhalo

If you’ve yet to see serious aerial dance–and we don’t mean the scarf-twirling floufy stuff–you are missing out. When one of dance’s most important limiting factors, gravity, is replaced with the negotiation of suspension, the movement of the body takes on, if you’ll pardon the pun, an entirely new dimension. Done right, it opens up doors to innovation you could drive a truck through. Trisha Brown’s wall-walkers took the first step and today’s aerialists keep expanding the palette.
This Friday night at 10:00 PM, ripe and Hot Misery host Daniel Addy + AVIATORaerialdance as they take to the walls and ceiling of the Gotham Building Tavern (2240 N Interstate) in a fundraising performance to benefit their upcoming production, 22ºhalo. The night’s performers will include longtime collaborators Daniel Addy, Mike Barber, Tracy Broyles, plus Meshi Chavez, Stephanie Lanckton, and the fierce Dawn Joella Jackson. DJ Beyonda will spin for the dance party following. ($10-$100 sliding scale).
Anticipate as well the performances of 22ºhalo at the Wieden + Kennedy Atrium May 12, 13 and 14 and at p:ear Blossoms IV on May 6.
