Low Brow High (Performance) Art

The A-#1 reason for turning out for this Monday’s “Pints for PICA” at the Low Brow Lounge (1036 NW Hoyt) is that Mark Russell will be there. Mark Russell, former artistic director of New York’s PS 122, is the new guest artistic director for PICA and we’re dying to hear what he’s thinking about TBA:06. A couple of decades of programming–having a hand in launching the careers of John Leguizamo and Eric Bogosian, the Blue Man Group (pre-Vegas, obviously), and Doug Varone, plus booking everyone from Annie Sprinkle to Karen Finley–make Russell the promise of a shot-in-the-arm/left-turn for Time-Based Art programming in Portland. Bring. It. On.

Part of all bar and food sales at the Low Brow Lounge on Monday, March 13 from 6-10 PM benefit PICA.
