Oui, Monsieur
Is that performance artist, filmmaker, and eBay guru Andrew Dickson partnering with local t-biz Monsieur T? You bet.

It’s old hat in the t-shirt and sportswear business to have a team of skaters/snowboarders/etc. who are “sponsored.” In the I-scratch-your-back-you-scratch-mine world of sponsorship, you get free merchandise and you wear it, (preferably in photo shoots) getting the word out on the line, maybe pose for the ads and catalogues. Leave it to brilliant Portland-based t-shirt company Monsieur T. to build their team not of sports but artists and creatives, the first of which–and likely star team-member–is local art hero, Andrew Dickson.
According to Quentin of Monsieur T., “We are working on building a team of artists and creative people who are in the public eye, to help build a strong image for our company. Andrew Dickson is one of our sponsored team members. We think he’s quite a talented actor and love his charisma. He was a model for our first Spring/Summer collection in 2005 and he recently posed for our ad in Venus magazine (see attached photo).”
For those of you who’ve missed Andrew Dickson performing as California transplant and self-helper Bradlee or eBay guru AC Dickson or missed his short film in which he plays reality t.v. show hopeful Hunter Dawson, (see PICA’s TBA Fests, NW Film Center, and elsewhere) You Are Missing Out. Dickson is on his way to Bristol where he’ll be performing February 2nd at the Arnolifini In Between Time Festival.
