Apres Le Deluge
Did we get our fill of visual art this past weekend with the Affair and PAM? No.
There was a lot of needlework-based visual art at the Affair (something we will consider more fully elsewhere), but one of the standouts was the work of Megan Whitmarsh. The work is intricate but clean and simple, executed in a lovely way…imagine tiny brushstrokes. It’s also not self-referential about its medium which is refreshing. Appreciate the technique, love the subjects as in “Lonely King Kong” above. Her show, “Crystal Logic” opens tonight at motel gallery with a reception from 6:30-9 PM. motel gallery is on NW Couch, between 5th & 6th.
This is an older work by Dan Ness. The work of his that is currently hung in fix gallery is an interesting development, and we can’t wait to see what he shows at Pause in the Everett Station Lofts building opening tonight.
