Ever since fix moved into their inner Eastside digs, the profile of this emporium of independent designers, many making one-of-a-kind garments and accessories, has risen dramatically.

Don’t miss this chance to see the new fall lines of the three resident designers who have studios attached to the shop/gallery in a preview from 5-8 PM on September 10 (just before the 8 PM fashion show at YES down the street). As an open studio event, it will be casual–no models, just the work. Interestingly, fix co-owner (and Jackie-O Motherfucker member) Genevieve Dellinger says that while browsing and trying on, you may be called to take part in an impromptu photo shoot. The designers catalogues will feature photos taken during the event.

Genevieve Dellinger describes her fall line as, “military-influenced in construction and palette. It’s pared down with clean lines, but some bohemian elements.” Those notes may sound like others you’ve heard in Fall trend reports, but the pic above, from an earlier collection, is enough to demonstrate that Dellinger’s take on those themes will be singular. Don Jones’ line, Truffles, features distressed and reconstructed pieces. And Hazel Cox’s jewelry is some of the most individual work in Portland, based as it is on pairing jewelry steel with semi-precious stones. It’s tough and lovely and perfect. At the beginning of the summer Cox was headed to Scandinavia, planning to come back and incorporate wood into her work. Go see.
